Tis the season
TIS THE SEASON 1
Times and Seasons
28 – Times and Seasons
It’s the number associated with the beginning and the end of certain God-given timelines. Ecclesiastes chapter three lists 28 times and seasons for every purpose under Heaven.
Ecclesiastes 3:1-8
To everything there is a season,
and a time to every purpose under the heaven:
A time to be born, and a time to die; a time to plant, and a time to pluck up that which is planted;
A time to kill, and a time to heal;
a time to break down, and a time to build up;
A time to weep, and a time to laugh;
a time to mourn, and a time to dance;
A time to cast away stones,
and a time to gather stones together;
a time to embrace, and a time to refrain from embracing;
A time to get, and a time to lose;
a time to keep, and a time to cast away;
A time to rend, and a time to sew;
a time to keep silence, and a time to speak;
A time to love, and a time to hate;
a time of war, and a time of peace.
Notice the first is a time to be born and the last is a time of peace.
Psalms 37:37 – Mark the perfect man, and behold the upright: for the end of that man is peace.
Since the first and the last sequence are in the correct order, we can assume the other 26 are in perfect order. I mean, why not? This is a real timeline for every believer working through every purpose God gives us. If you can see where you’re at in a certain area now, the Word of God declares your next season you’ll be going through.
28 IN THE BIBLE
The number of Hebrew letters in Genesis 1:1,
The word “weeks” appears 28 times in the Bible and it’s a measure of time. BOOM!
The phrase “day and night” appears exactly 28 times throughout Scripture.
There are 28 days in a lunar month.
The rotation time of the surface of the Sun rotates every 28 days.
The Sun’s surface gravity is 28 times that of Earth.
Calendar years normally follow a 28-year cycle.
Since there are seven days in a week and leap year occurs every four years, a calendar from 28 years ago is the same as the one you’re looking at.
So 28 is definitely connected to the calendar. In fact, 28 is the number of days in the shortest month of the Gregorian calendar. February has 28 days, except in leap years when there are 29 days. All 12 months of the Gregorian calendar have at least 28 days, regardless of the year.
JESUS, TIMES AND SEASONS
The word “cross” shows up exactly 28 times in the Bible.
The word Lamb shows up exactly 28 times in the Bible.
The phrase “end of the world” shows up 28 times throughout Scripture. A definite picture of a timeline, “end of the world” doesn’t just mean the literal end of the world. Loosely translated in modern terms, it could also mean the end of your rope. We’ve all been there!
The promise of Jesus is that He is with us even when we venture off our map – when He calls us out of what is familiar into those scary places of uncharted territory. That verse is found in Matthew at the very end of the book – chapter 28:
Matthew 28:20 – …and, lo, I am with you always, even unto the end of the world. Amen.
WISDOM AND UNDERSTANDING
Job 28:28 – And to man He said, ‘Behold, the fear of the Lord, that is wisdom, And to depart from evil is understanding.’ ”
Ecclesiastes 3:1
To everything there is a season,
and a time to every purpose under the heaven:
New International Version
There is a time for everything, and a season for every activity under the heavens:
Amplified Bible
There is a season (a time appointed) for everything and a time for every delight and event or purpose under heaven—
1 Thessalonians 5:1
But concerning the times and the seasons, brethren, you have no need that I should write to you.
Daniel 2:21 ESV
He changes times and seasons; he removes kings and sets up kings; he gives wisdom to the wise and knowledge to those who have understanding;
28th verse in the Bible: Man is given dominion over the earth
Genesis 1:28 – And God blessed them, and God said unto them, Be fruitful, and multiply, and replenish the earth, and subdue it: and have dominion over the fish of the sea, and over the fowl of the air, and over every living thing that moves upon the earth.
