The Throne Room of Heaven

The Throne Room of Heaven

4 After these things I looked, and behold, a door standing open in heaven. And the first voice which I heard was like a trumpet speaking with me, saying, “Come up here, and I will show you things which must take place after this.”

2 Immediately I was in the Spirit; and behold, a throne set in heaven, and One sat on the throne. 3 And He who sat there was like a jasper and a sardius stone in appearance; and there was a rainbow around the throne, in appearance like an emerald.

4 Around the throne were twenty-four thrones, and on the thrones I saw twenty-four elders sitting, clothed in white robes; and they had crowns of gold on their heads. 5 And from the throne proceeded lightnings, thunderings, and voices. Seven lamps of fire were burning before the throne, which are the seven Spirits of God.

6 Before the throne there was a sea of glass, like crystal. And in the midst of the throne, and around the throne, were four living creatures full of eyes in front and in back.

7 The first living creature was like a lion, the second living creature like a calf, the third living creature had a face like a man, and the fourth living creature was like a flying eagle.

8 The four living creatures, each having six wings, were full of eyes around and within. And they do not rest day or night, saying:

“Holy, holy, holy,
Lord God Almighty,
Who was and is and is to come!”

9 Whenever the living creatures give glory and honor and thanks to Him who sits on the throne, who lives forever and ever, 10 the twenty-four elders fall down before Him who sits on the throne and worship Him who lives forever and ever, and cast their crowns before the throne, saying:

“You are worthy, O Lord,
To receive glory and honor and power;
For You created all things,
And by Your will they exist and were created.”

to understand the meaning of Revelation 4:1 we need to examine 1 Thessalonians 4:16-18.  In this verse we have the following:

The voice of Jesus it says “the Lord Himself will descend from heaven.”

The trumpet call “and with the trumpet of God.”

We have the church being “harpazo’ed” or rapture, being caught away.

They find themselves “meeting the Lord”

So with those four little details in mind I want to read the verse in Revelation 4:1-2  “After these things I looked, and behold, a door standing open in heaven. And the first voice which I heard was like a trumpet speaking with me, saying, “Come up here, and I will show you things which must take place after this.  Immediately I was in the Spirit; and behold, a throne set in heaven, and One sat on the throne.”

In this verse we have the following just like in 1 Thessalonians 4:16-17:

We have the voice of Jesus. That voice was saying Come up here.

We have the mention of a trumpet.

We have John being snatched away or caught away up into heaven.

We have John being found in the presence of God

The rapture of the church is how it is written  the church age of revelation 1-3 is over  ( John is before the Lord in the throne room now )

Quick Summary:

Diving into Revelation 4:4, we unearth a fascinating insight about the 24 Elders. This isn’t just about ancient figures sitting on thrones; it’s a powerful symbol of unity between the old-school believers (12 Tribes of Israel) and the new crew (12 Disciples of Jesus). A special class of heavenly beings that surround the throne

The word elohim or ‘elohiym (ʼĕlôhîym) is a grammatically plural noun for “gods” or “deities” or various other words in Biblical Hebrew. In Hebrew, the ending -im normally indicates a masculine plural.

The name Palmoni (Hebrew: פלמוני, romanized: Palmōnî) appears in the original Hebrew in the biblical book of Daniel.[1] The still widely used King James Version of 1611 refers to Palmoni indirectly as “that certain saint” – “or,” as a marginal note from the translators says, “the numberer of secrets, or, the wonderful numberer: Heb. Palmoni.”[2]

In Daniel 8:14, Palmoni identifies a period of 2,300 days before the cleansing of the sanctuary, an event evidently desired by the prophet Daniel, would take place.

The 24 elders

These Elders are rocking white robes and golden crowns, which isn’t just heavenly bling; it’s a sign they’ve overcome, they’re ruling, and they’re distinct from angels. They’re not just spectators; they’re key players in God’s kingdom, embodying the full circle of faith from way back to right now.

24 elders that circle the throne

24 thousand miles that circle the past earth

24 time zones that circle the planet

24 hours that circle a day

24 is about divine things that must repeat

They sing and declare a repeating anthem of redemption? It’s not just any song; it’s the soundtrack of salvation that echoes through eternity, connecting every believer’s heart across time. This revelation gives us a glimpse into God’s master plan, where every follower of Christ, past, present, and future, is woven into this epic narrative of victory and grace. So, when we peek into this scene, we’re not just looking at a celestial council; we’re seeing the ultimate dream team of faith, handpicked by God, showcasing His promise of unity and triumph in the New Jerusalem. Man, that’s the kind of kingdom I’m excited to be a part of!
