DAYS OF THUNDER 2:
The Thundering Voice
The Lord has been speaking to many in this room and those watching online for quite some time now.
There has been something stirring up in your spirit.
You’ve been waking up seeing signs, seeing numbers, hearing God speak to you in ways that are strange to you and you don’t know what or why.
But what is really happening is that the Lord is preparing his army. He is preparing His bride. He is preparing his CHURCH.
In continuing with the Days of Thunder series, I need you today to understand that we’re not talking about meteorological events. But rather a shift in the mindset of the body of Christ. A shift that lets us overcome defeat, doubt or any kind of battle we face. A mindset that goes from surviving to thriving.
The days of thunder prophetically speaking represents the day the church fully awakens to it’s true potential.
And when we realize who and what we have within ourselves,
when that day comes, and we all discover that and fully walk in that,
THE DEVIL TREMBLES because we activate heaven on earth.
Because you see God is the lightning and we are his thunder.
When lightning strikes all you see is a flash of light. Beautiful, remarkable yet terrifying at the same time.
But afterward comes the roar of the thunder.
It is the same in the supernatural. God is moving. God is flashing his light everywhere and it’s beautiful, yet scar–not to us but to the hoards of hell.
And at the same time, He is preparing his thundering herd to invade hell. To truly see heaven on earth.
You see, God is moving and it is through the word of your testimony, through your roar, through your voice that creates ripples and walls come down.
Today I’m calling this message “THE THUNDERING VOICE”
We’re gonna be talking about the walls of Jericho and what keys the lord gave them to overcome and win the battle.
JOSHUA 5:13 -15 NLT
13 When Joshua was near the town of Jericho, you see everything you need and want is within REACH he looked up and saw a man standing in front of him with a sword in hand. Joshua went up to him and demanded, “Are you friend or foe?” 14 “Neither one,” he replied. “I am the commander of the Lord’s army.” At this, Joshua fell with his face to the ground in reverence. “I am at your command,” Joshua said. “What do you want your servant to do?” 15 The commander of the Lord’s army replied, “Take off your sandals, for the place where you are standing is holy.” And Joshua did as he was told.
How many of you want to have the BEST YEAR of your LIFE this year? THE STORY STARTS with JOSHUA SEEING GOD.
You gotta see the Lord as the ONE who leads you—the one who guides you—the one who sustains you—the one who helps you.
Joshua asks “who are you for—us or them?” the answer is that GOD IS FOR GOD— he is for HIS KINGDOM come, HIS WILL being done!
The real question is—ARE YOU FOR GOD??? Are you submitted to God’s WILL??? Are you willing to let GOD LEAD this year?
What strategy did Joshua have? What did he do?
THE KEYS TO WINNING THE BATTLE
1. SURRENDER
GOD was CALLING JOSHUA to SURRENDER before HE SUCCEEDED—–EXODUS 33:11 talks about Moses being in the tent of meeting where he would casually talk to God like someone speaks to a friend. Every time Moses would leave the tent, 1 person remained. Joshua. To seek God in the secret place.
You see, SUCCESS starts in the SECRET PLACE of SURRENDERING to God’s will.
2. SEE
See GOD—see what he sees—see the potential —SEE the VISION — SEE the VICTORY——-YOU HAVE TO SEE IT BEFORE YOU SEIZE IT— GET A VISION OF VICTORY this year!!! GOD WANTS you to SEE what’s POSSIBLE….
Proverbs 29:18 – Without a VISION people PERISH…
The only thing worse than being blind is having SIGHT but not VISION… –Helen Keller
3. SERVE
If you’re too BIG to serve, you’re too small to LEAD
Serve where God has you
Serve where the need is
See the need and meet it
See the hurt and heal it
God has already given us the command…
But we must be ok with small beginnings. Obedience is the true test of faith.
Serving without knowing the outcome.
God is not looking for critics. He’s looking for contributors.
Jesus said: I too did not come to be served. I came to serve.
4. SPEAK
Say what God says,
Say the vision out loud,
Speak it over yourself,
Speak it over others—speak life—speak hope—speak faith—speak victory—speak a language of love
Speak to your mountains
The promises of God are voice activated
5. SURROUND
Proverbs 27:17 – iron sharpens iron
Ecclesiastes 4:9-10 – two are better than one…
Surround yourself with the right people. Circle Jericho with the right circle of people;
the God-dream needs a God-team
PARACLETE: Greek military term meaning “come alongside”— the word “Paraclete” means Jesus sends the Holy Spirit to come beside the believer to help him accomplish the will of God. So the Holy Spirit is our wing-man! Surround yourself with Holy Spirit people.
People assigned to honor and serve – to help you through the thick and thin of the battle. Your brotherhood, sisterhood, and the Holy Spirit…
Whenever we go into battle, OUR ARENA is where we take our place for everyone to see who are we standing beside,
Who is our band of brothers? Who is helping us???
When you feel like doing fellowship the least, is when you need it the most. Who you surround yourself with determines whether you ever conquer your surroundings.
6. START
THE DIFFERENCE between a DREAM and a GOAL is a DATE—stop procrastinating stop dreaming and thinking about it,
This year I will — start doing it this week— start eating right, start exercising, start that project, start that book, start that goal… whatever it may be.
OUR potential is our GIFT FROM GOD—
Our POSSIBILITIES are God’s GIFT to us—
But WHAT WE DO WITH THAT POTENTIAL is our GIFT BACK TO GOD and to the WORLD.
We have to start. Somewhere. Get your foot through the door. Start in the prayer tent in the corner. Observing, learning. That’s probably not where you want to be. Hidden and silent.
But Joshua learned to obey the Lord by listening, therefore he found his potential in the secret place.
7. STICK WITH IT
Stay steady— stay consistent
Consistency brings the breakthrough
Keep circling Jericho til the walls fall down
Stay in the gym, stay in the word, stay in church, stay in the right thing
Sell out to your seed— sell out to your soil— stick to your strategy
Most people don’t see the breakthrough because they give up on their soil too soon, they give up on the process— they want a massive harvest, a giant fruit.
Stick with the process.
Now I’ve told you these 7 keys to Joshua’s victory that can lead to your victory.
You see, the Israelites had seen battle before and experienced victory time and time again.
But this was a different battle. They were not gonna win the battle of Jericho with strength and might– with sword and stones.
They were gonna win with their obedience to God and their thunderous voice.
But I’m not gonna say more.
I want to take you back to that incredible time. Where ones obedience ended in victory.
Joshua 6:1-20;27 (The Fall of Jericho) Now the gates of Jericho were tightly shut because the people were afraid of the Israelites. No one was allowed to go out or in. 2 But the Lord said to Joshua, “I have given you Jericho, its king, and all its strong warriors. 3 You and your fighting men should march around the town once a day for six days. 4 Seven priests will walk ahead of the Ark, each carrying a ram’s horn. On the seventh day you are to march around the town seven times, with the priests blowing the horns. 5 When you hear the priests give one long blast on the rams’ horns, have all the people shout as loud as they can. Then the walls of the town will collapse, and the people can charge straight into the t
6 So Joshua called together the priests and said, “Take up the Ark of the Lord’s Covenant, and assign seven priests to walk in front of it, each carrying a ram’s horn.” 7 Then he gave orders to the people: “March around the town, and the armed men will lead the way in front of the Ark of the Lord.” 8 After Joshua spoke to the people, the seven priests with the rams’ horns started marching in the presence of the Lord, blowing the horns as they marched. And the Ark of the Lord’s Covenant followed behind them.
9 Some of the armed men marched in front of the priests with the horns and some behind the Ark, with the priests continually blowing the horns. 10 “Do not shout; do not even talk,” Joshua commanded. “Not a single word from any of you until I tell you to shout. Then shout!” 11 So the Ark of the Lord was carried around the town once that day, and then everyone returned to spend the night in the camp. 12 Joshua got up early the next morning, and the priests again carried the Ark of the Lord. 13 The seven priests with the rams’ horns marched in front of the Ark of the Lord, blowing their horns. Again the armed men marched both in front of the priests with the horns and behind the Ark of the Lord. All this time the priests were blowing their horns.
14 On the second day they again marched around the town once and returned to the camp. They followed this pattern for six days. 15 On the seventh day the Israelites got up at dawn and marched around the town as they had done before. But this time they went around the town seven times. 16 The seventh time around, as the priests sounded the long blast on their horns, Joshua commanded the people, “Shout! For the Lord has given you the town!”
20 When the people heard the sound of the rams’ horns, they shouted as loud as they could. Suddenly, the walls of Jericho collapsed, and the Israelites charged straight into the town and captured it.
27 So the Lord was with Joshua, and his reputation spread throughout the land.
